Cleaning Kaylynn's Room

Please Give Me Privacy Mom!

Kaylynn loves to open and shut doors. Lately, she has been going to her bedroom and shutting the door. Grandma and mama like to knock on the door and ask to come in. Kaylynn opens up the door and shouts "NO!" How cute is that? I guess Kaylynn wants her privacy!

The Best Baby Ever!

A few nights ago, my mom and I were watching Jon & Kate Plus Eight. As usual, Kaylynn was taking out all her toys and books. However, Kaylynn surprised us by putting away all her toys after she finished playing with them. Then she proceeded to clean her toy box with a baby wipe!

Kaylynn's New Toy

Kaylynn has a new toy, and his name is Lucky! Lucky is a mechanical dog that is computerized to obey commands. Lucky can sit, play dead, go to sleep, and stand on his hands! Kaylynn just loves her new pet!

Clapping To The Rhythm

My father buys Kaylynn every musical teddy bear that he sees. Last Valentine's Day, he bought Kaylynn an Elvis bear. At the beginning of this month, he bought her a Christmas Bear and a Cheerleading Bear. As a family, we listen and dance as the bears sing their tune. Kaylynn absolutely loves when we all do this together. Lately she has been clapping to the beat. We don't know where she got this from because we haven't clapped in front of her.

I Push It

This weekend I took Kaylynn to play at the park. She wasn't able to walk by herself, but she enjoyed walking with mama holding her hands. She giggled at all the children. Kaylynn also had fun walking as she pushed the bottom of her stroller. In fact, she insisted that she push the stroller by saying "I push it."

Obama

Being an Obama supporter, there is an Obama sign stationed in our front yard. Kaylynn is fascinated with the sign. She has learned to read the word "Obama" from mommy underlining the word and saying "Obama". This is Kaylynn's first official word that she can recognize and read!

Happy 1st Birthday Kaylynn!

Kaylynn gazing at her cake. Poor baby was to sick to even eat her cake!

What are these people singing?

Can you please get me out of here?

Mom, I am sick.

Don't take my picture! I am sick!

Today is Kaylynn's first birthday. Unfortunately we were both sick the entire day. In fact, Kaylynn had a horrible fever the night before. Mommy has been giving her tylenol. Nevertheless, we sang happy birthday.

Composing Phrases

Today, I heard Kaylynn compose her first few phrases. She said, "Boz, I love you." as I was popping in a Boz movie. She also asked for a "bottle of juice". My baby is growing up so quickly. She prounces 1-2 new words daily.

Almost Walking

I am so excited about Kaylynn's expanding vocabulary that I forgot to share that she can take five steps all by herself. She is so enthralled with her walking ability. It is the most amazing experience to watch her grow up. I love being a mommy!

Kaylynn Is Labeling The World Around Her!

Today I took Kaylynn to the park to practice walking with her toys. It was a chilly fall day, and the trees were wrestling in the wind. Kaylynn repeatedly looked up at the trees and each time said "tree". When we got back from the park, we read several books and went through her animal flashcards. She did her normal roar when she saw the lion, and screamed "DOG!" when she saw the dog...BUT....she also said a new word: "DUCK!" :)

Tonight when I was putting on Kaylynn's pjs, she pointed to my eye and said "eye". My mom has been teaching her how to say eye, ear, nose, and mouth while I am at work. Thanks Mom!

Every word that Kaylynn says is so exciting......and a miracle in my book!
