2nd Favorite Toy
What keeps this little girls interest more than anything? Well, for starters....Kaylynn LOVES her toy key ring.....and her second favorite toy are these colorful textured rings. Kaylynn has so many fun and interesting toys....but she loves the little things that she can pick. She would be happy playing with her keys and rings all day long!
More Words??
Every so often, out of the blue, Kaylynn will repeat a word that she overheard in a conversation. Yesterday, my mother and I heard her say baby for the first time. My mother also heard Kaylynn say pampaw after my mom told Kaylynn that pampaw was coming home. Kaylynn has repeated those words a few other times. So far, Kaylynn can say baby, baba, bye, hi, mama, and pampaw. She refuses to babble any utterances upon our demand, but occasionally she will bless us with her beautiful words!
Early Morning Pictures
Kaylynn and I got up real early this morning. I won't even mention how early we got up, but I decided to snap a few pictures of her playing on her new toy. She played for a whole thirty seconds before she decided to venture off into forbidden land. As I am typing this post, my daughter is WALKING around the perimeter of her crib. She is extremely giddy to be able to walk while holding onto objects. She prefers activity over material possessions. Such is life......it will save me money in the long run!
More Pictures Of The Princess
Kaylynn got an array of toys this past week (mainly from my friend, Brett). You would think that she would be drawn to these colorful fun toys, right? WRONG! This girl would rather crawl, pull herself up, and get into something that she is not suppose to! These toys grab her attention for 30 seconds or so and then she wants something else. HOWEVER, she has a hayday with her toy keys or some forbidden object. I think the mama is a little more excited about the toys than the baby! Thank You Brett for the wonderful gifts!

Mommy's Stinker Pie
Kaylynn Has More Teethers!
For the past few weeks, Kaylynn has been getting up several times every night. I have been so exhausted, and wondering why my little girl was waking up in the middle of the night. Last night was our first peaceful night of rest, and this morning...I discovered Kaylynn had two new teethers which makes a total of six teeth! I am assuming that she was waking up because she was cutting teeth. This little girl is growing like a weed. I am so amazed how quickly they change. Even her feet are growing at a rapid pace. It seems like her feet jumped from a size two to a size four over night. She didn't even go through a stage three! Hopefully, I can catch up on some sleep. This mama has been running on fumes!
Thank You Mrs.Haviland!

Kaylynn's New Toy
Look what Kaylynn got for her nine month birthday!
I presented this toy with such pride and enthusiasm. I was sure that Kaylynn was going to love it, and it was going to help her learn how to walk! I couldn't have been more wrong! My daughter prefers to play with her toy keys that her grandma bought her for $1.99 as compared to my $29.99 gift. I am quickly learning that children appreciate the small things in life over the more granduer and complicated things. In all honesty, she enjoys exploring her environment most of all. She loves to try to get to the "forbidden" things like phone cords and computer wires! I have tried on several occasions to get her to play with this toy. So far, I bet she hasn't played with it for more than five minutes! I guess she isn't going to learn how to walk using this gadget. This mama is going to save her money for Kaylynn's tuition to Harvard!

Happy 9 Months Kaylynn Michelle!
Today Kaylynn turns 9months. She loves to get into things that she is not suppose to. The "Forbidden" is so enticing to her. She can crawl, stand up, and walk around the couch. She no longer does the army crawl; now she can use her legs in the crawling process. Her favorite books include: Who Took The Cookies From The Cookie Jar, Miss Mary Mack, Down By The Bay, and Over The Meadow. She loves to wave "HI" and "BYE" and she will occasionally say the words. She loves to say "Baba" when she sees mommy making her a bottle. She will put anything in her mouth. She keeps her mama busy!

What???
Today, my mother took Kaylynn to Krogers to buy some groceries. Kaylynn loves to go grocery shopping! She loves to ride in the grocery cart. Kaylynn knows just about everyone who works at Krogers. They all think she is adorable because she waves "HI" and "Bye". The lady that works in the baby food isle is especially good to Kaylynn. When she saw Kaylynn, she immediately ran up to my mother (thinking my mother was me) to tell her that diapers were going on sale tomorrow. She saw my mother from behind and thought my mother was me. My mom was elated that the lady had mistaken her for me. She couldn't wait until I came home from my classes on campus to tell me the story. To make matters worse...my mother was wearing my clothes! I seriously need to loose some weight! I can't have my mother looking better than me!

One Happy Girl
The Amish Princess
My mother enjoys dressing Kaylynn in homemade dresses that she bought at a yard sale.
I call Kaylynn "The Amish Princess" because the dresses are so old-fashioned.
I think she looks adorable in just about everything, but I am a biased mother.
The dresses cost a quarter a piece.
With rising gas prices, a mommy has to pinch pennies somewhere!
